A Silver Clay Workshop

FRIDAY May 15
10:00 am- 5:30 pm

Metal Clay Studio
Albuquerque, NM
(San Pedro NE & Constitution area)

Tuition: $280 – All materials are included, and students will have access to the complete range of tools and equipment needed for the workshop.

Celebrate the heart and soul of the Southwest in this unforgettable silver clay workshop! In Corazón del Zia, you’ll create a statement pendant featuring the powerful Zia sun symbol and set with a vibrant heart-shaped Spiny Oyster cabochon, a traditional material beloved in Native American jewelry.

You’ll be guided step-by-step using Art Clay Silver, an eco-friendly, recycled silver material made of 99.9% pure silver particles, water, and organic binder. You’ll mold, carve, and refine your design, then learn how to:

Use torch firing to turn clay into solid .999 silver.

Create a fine silver bezel for the heart shaped cabochon.

Set a fine silver bezel directly into the clay (no soldering required!)

Polish and finish your pendant like a pro

Set a cabochon after firing using traditional hand-finishing techniques

By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a beautiful, handcrafted pendant in fine silver that reflects your personal style and the spirit of New Mexico.

Absolutely no prior silversmithing experience required!

Note: The studio address will be emailed to enrolled students a couple of days before the workshop.
