Open Studio with Instructor Support is a guided creative session designed for students who have already taken Intro to Metal Clay or any silver clay workshop with Iliana. It’s the perfect space to keep creating, experimenting, and growing your skills with access to a fully equipped, certified studio.

Bring your own project idea and enjoy the use of kilns, torches, tools, tumblers, and shared workspaces. Iliana will be available throughout the session to answer questions, offer group guidance, and support everyone in making safe and successful design decisions.
Please note: this is not a private lesson or a class for learning entirely new techniques.

If you’d like to repeat a previous class project, you can! Simply request a project kit ahead of time, and it will be prepared for purchase on the day of your session.

This is not a set-project class, it’s a hands-on creative lab ideal for students ready to explore ideas independently, build confidence, and receive expert insight when needed.

What’s Included

• Use of all certified studio tools and equipment
• Group guidance and support from Iliana
• Kiln and torch firing supervision
• Scheduled access to the tumbler

How to prepare for Open Studio

• Bring Art Clay Silver or your old PMC products
• Bring personal materials: findings, beads, cords, silver wire, finishing supplies (sandpaper, Silver Black, steel wool, etc.)
• Art Clay Silver products and other additional materials are available for purchase at the studio

Students must contact Iliana in advance to briefly share their project idea. She will confirm what materials you’ll need to bring.

Open Studio sessions are limited to the scheduled time. Any additional hours are $25 per hour and must be approved in advance by the instructor. Availability is not guaranteed.

Would you like to redo a Project?

If you have previously taken a workshop with Iliana and would like to recreate the same project, you may purchase the material kit for that specific project and complete it during an Open Studio session. Depending on the complexity of the project, it may require more than one Open Studio session to complete. Please contact us before booking so we can help you plan the appropriate time and materials. This studio is an official Art Clay World Certified Studio, specializing in instruction and techniques using Art Clay® products.

Our workshops and firing schedules are designed specifically for Art Clay. While we primarily work with the Art Clay brand, we also have experience with other metal clay brands such as Hadar’s Clay and PMC.

Students are welcome to bring other brands of metal clay to Open Studio sessions. However, because each brand has different firing requirements and technical characteristics, additional testing or adjustments may be necessary. For this reason, results may vary.

Our team will do our best to guide you, but Art Clay World America is not responsible for firing or sintering results when using non-Art Clay products.

Studio Access

The studio is open for the full 4-hour session, and you are welcome to arrive at any time during that window or stay for the entire session.
Please note: the session fee is fixed, as your seat, tools, and instructor support are reserved for the full duration.

Registration

No walk-ins. Registration is required.
Open Studio is limited to 10 seats per day, and spaces must be reserved in advance.

The studio address will be emailed to enrolled students a few days before the workshop.
